Abstract
429,122. Yarn - winding machines. ARUNDEL, COULTHARD, & CO., Ltd., and HIGGINSON, J., Sovereign Works, Stockport, Cheshire. Jan. 18, 1934, No. 1786. [Class 120 (ii)] In a yarn-winding machine in which the yarn guides at both sides of the machine are traversed from a common cam, the guides at each side of the machine are traversed by a separate cam groove, the grooves a, b being coaxial and of equal diameters, and one groove being displaced through a circular angle with respect to the other so that when one traverse wire or the like is at the end of its traverse in one direction, the other traverse wire or the like is at the end of its traverse in the other direction; the bowls i carried by the traverse wires are set at a relatively small angle about the cam axis a<1> in order to reduce the width of the machine to a minimum. As shown, the yarn guides at each side of the machine are carried by wires c, d disposed within a rod e within a sleeve el and clamped in a two-part guide f which rides upon guide rods or bars g ; the guide f carries a stud h upon which the bowl i is mounted. The bowls i may be eccentrically mounted on the studs h so that they may be adjustable relatively to one another to ensure that the bowls pass over the cam apices simultaneously.
