Abstract
429,085. Ironing-machines. ELECTRIC HOUSEHOLD UTILITIES CORPORATION, West Cermak Road, Chicago, U.S.A. Oct. 22, 1934, No. 30307. Convention date, June 8. [Class 138 (ii)] The concave bed of an ironing-machine is divided transversely into relatively movable sections to allow for the passage of articles of varying thickness. In the form shown the central element 16 is fixed by bolts and nuts 25, 26 to the axial bar 13 secured by a bracket 3 to the standard 2 and the elements 15 on either side of the central element are provided with bolts 27 slidable in apertures 28 in the axial bar, springs 29 housed in recesses 30 in the bar bearing on the rear of the elements and maintaining them normally in contact with the roller C and in alignment with the central element. The beating units 11 of the various elements are connected by flexible conductors 20.
