428,480. Order - telegraph signalling- apparatus. FABER, J. A. C., 15, Banjoewangiweg, Batavia-Centrum, Java, Dutch East Indies. Dec. 6, 1933, No. 34348. Convention date, Oct. 24. [Class 118 (ii)] An order-telegraph apparatus locks the reversing shaft of the engine against movement in the incorrect direction. The reversing shaft 1 carries toothed segments 9, 10 which are normally just clear of teeth 7, 8 carried by the sleeve 4. The cog wheel 19 is rotated by the order telegraph and carries eccentric 18. As the eccentric is moved, it brings, by means of stops 13, 14 and springs 15, 16, the teeth 7, 9 or the teeth 8, 10 into engagement. These teeth lock the shaft 1 against rotation in the directions corresponding to ahead and astern respectively and so prevent the shaft 1 being rotated in a direction contrary to that indicated by the order telegraph.
