427,440. Erasers. KEARNEY, E. W. C., 100, Victoria Street, London. Jan. 12, 1934, No. 1163. [Class 146 (iii)] An electric erasing-machine consists of an electric motor which carries a rigid tubular extension substantially concentric with the motor spindle and having a bearing in its outer end, in which is carried a rotatable chuck holding the erasing material, the chuck and the motor spindle being connected by a flexible shaft arranged within the tubular member. Attached to and fitting round the spindle 2 of an electric motor 1 is a rigid tubular member 8, the upper end of which is fixed to or is integral with a bearing member 6, within which is the chuck 4 holding the eraser 5. Motion is transmitted to the chuck 4 by a flexible shaft 3 connected between the chuck and the spindle 2 and in use the member 8 is held between the fingers like a pen with the motor resting on the top of the hand and the eraser is applied to the work to be corrected.
