427,244. Shock - absorbers. FAUDI, F., 190, Hansa-Allee, Oberkassel, D³sseldorf, Germany. Aug. 1, 1934, No. 22431. Addition to 422,686. [Class 108 (iii)] The cushioning and shock - absorbing device comprising a metal spring and a pneumatic shockabsorber arranged in parallel, as claimed in the parent Specification, is modified by forming the liner b<2> of the shockabsorber as a true cylinder concentrically disposed within the outer cylinder b by means of an annular flange b<3> on each cylinder cover which enters between adjacent ends of the cylinder and liner to form an annular chamber g. The flanges b<3> may be threaded to engage threaded ends on the cylinder and/or liner. Apertures in the liner and cylinder enable the chamber g to communicate respectively with the chambers on either side of the operating piston f and with the atmosphere.
