Abstract
427,053. Modulating systems. SCHUCHTER, K., 26, Hottingergasse, Innsbruck, Austria. Jan. 16, 1934, No. 1544. Convention date, Jan. 16, 1933. [Class 40 (v)] Modulation is effected by inductively coupling to the oscillating aerial circuit 4 a separate circuit comprising a coil 3 shunted by a tuning- condenser 5, a rectifier 2, and a transformer 1 supplied by the signal source. The signal may be from a microphone, and the rectifier 2 may be of the thermionic valve or crystal type. The circuit 3, 5 exerts a variable damping on the aerial circuit and so modulates the output in rhythm with the signal. The inductive coupling 3, 4 may be variable. No biassing battery is required for the rectifier, and the system is specially suitable for small portable transmitters. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 170,378 and 218,335, [both in Class 40 (v)].
