Abstract
427,040. Electric signalling systems. SCOTT, Ltd., A. G., and CLAYTON, G. C. H., 1, Creed Lane, Ludgate Hill, London. Oct. 18, 1933, Nos. 28875/33 and 2141/34. [Class 40 (i)] An indicator for use in industrial establishments or the like comprises a clock, the face of which has translucent numerals or other symbols which may be selectively illuminated by lamps, under remote control, to give signals such as calling signals for workmen. As shown the clock has a dial 11 provided with translucent numerals and supported by screws 12 on distance pieces 13 which are mounted on bolts 9. The numerals are illuminated as described by lamps 6 contained in compartments 5 formed by partitions 4 carried by a base plate 3 which is supported by the bolts 9. The clock is supported in the central compartment 7. Diffusing screens of coloured glass or adhesive may be interposed between the lamps and the numerals. In a modification, the clock face and the compartments may be formed as a unit which normally is supported on a base plate and locked thereon by ball catches, but may be withdrawn to facilitate repairs.
