426,889. Paving; blocks. RANDS, F. C., and ALEXANDER, T. F. N., Windsor House, Kingsway, London. Nov. 29, 1933, No. 33456. [Classes 20 (iv), 87 (i), and 107] A road comprises wood or other blocks 1, 2 of two different heights, and each of the blocks of either height is provided with one or more hollows for the reception of a filling which comprises grit and binding medium and presents a roughened surface standing proud of the surface of the block, as shown in Fig. 1. The fillings may be arranged as shown in Figs. 3 and 7, or they may extend transversely, longitudinally or diagonally of the block. The Provisional Specification describes also (1) the application of the fillings to the blocks of both heights, and (2) a construction of road wherein the blocks are of uniform height and some or all of the blocks are provided with fillings of gritty nature.
