425,350. Flexible abrasive articles. STEVENS, A. H., 5, Quality Court, Chancery Lane, London.-(Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Co. ; 791, Forest Street, St. Paul, Minnesota, U.S.A.) June 7, 1933, No. 25163/34. Divided out of 425,298. [Class 60] In a flexible abrasive article or sheet comprising at least three coatings on a backing, such as fabric or paper, and in which one coating is a binder for the grit, another is a presize and another a back-size, the coatings are composed of materials which, when set, are progressively harder from the back-size to the binder. A plurality of sand-size coatings softer than the binder may be applied over the binder and grit and a plurality of backsize coatings may be employed, the second being softer than the first. The compositions used for the various coatings are those described in Specification 425,298. Specifications 425,349, 425,355, and 425,356 also are referred to.
