Abstract

424,517. Railway stops. MITCHELL, J., Huntsman Inn, Torworth, near Doncaster. Nov. 8, 1933, No. 31015. [Class 104 (ii)] A stop for preventing cars from running backwards down an incline comprises a catch 1 pivoted at 3 in a casing 2 which is interposed between the ends of two rails 5 to form part of the track. The catch projects through an opening in the top of the casing and is maintained in this position by its heavier lower end or by a spring until it is depressed into the slotted position by the wheels of cars travelling in one direction. In the full line position it forms a stop for cars travelling in the opposite direction.
