Abstract

Solid colouring-compositions are prepared by thickening non-drying vegetable or mineral oils and mixing with dyes before solidification occurs. The oils may be thickened by oxidation and polymerization by heating in an autoclave in the presence of a catalyst, by vulcanization with sulphur or a sulphur compound, by hydrogenation, by the formation of oleates with the oleic acid in the vegetable oils, or by dissolving oleates or resinates therein. The colouring-compositions are used in the preparation of carbon papers.
