Abstract

422,559. Screw fans. ANDREW, F. C., Byculla, Higher Denham, Buckinghamshire. June 15, 1933, No. 17130. [Class 110 (i)] A fan unit comprises right and left-handed screw fans 3 which are mounted on opposite ends of a motor shaft 12 and separated by a deflector 11. The motor and the deflector 11 are mounted on a plate 4 secured to a pedestal 9. Surrounding the fan is a cage 12 which carries annular absorbent pads 14. The deflector is conical 15, or concave 11, and may be covered with or formed of, absorbent material. The blades are flexible so that the pitch may vary under load.
