Abstract

422,271. Tamping-apparatus and strickles for use in moulding concrete &c. RAPID FLOOR CO., Ltd., 59, New Oxford Street, London.-(Schlagintweit, F. ; 7, Kronprinzenstrasse, Baden-Baden, Germany) July 4, 1933, No. 19001. [Class 87 (ii)] Apparatus for tamping and strickling or floating concrete and the like on a relatively lung mould 14 is arranged to move along a track above the mould and is provided with separate tamping and strickling tools 26, 27 formed on two sides of a carrier 25, and means are provided whereby either tool may be brought into operative position by a part rotation of the carrier. The apparatus is suspended by links 4 from a carriage 5 having rollers 6 running on tracks 7. The links 4 are attached to a horizontal frame member 2 carrying vertical guides 1 whereon slides a carrier frame 8. The carrier 25 may be pivotally mounted in the frame 8 which is normally held in raised position by springs 12 engaging levers 20 pivoted on the member 2 and attached at their other ends by links 22 and a cross-bar 23 to a vertical guide member 10 carrying the frame 8. The member 10 passes through the member 2 and may be secured by a screw clamp 11. The tools may bo detachably mounted on opposite sides of the carrier 25. Transverse members carried at the lower ends of the guides 1 carry studs 15 adapted to engage channel members arranged along the mould to prevent the apparatus swinging. In use, the carrier is rotated to bring the tamper 26 into operative position and is secured by a spring-pressed pin 18. The apparatus is moved along the mould and the frame 8 vertically reciprocated against the springs by handles 24. After tamping, the carrier 25 is reversed and the frame 8 lowered until the strickle 27 enters the top of the mould. The guide 10 is secured by the clamp 11 and the apparatus drawn back along the mould. The spring pressure may be adjusted by means of notches 28 on the levers 20.
