[Class 61 (iii)] A nail extractor comprising two nipping jaws 3, 4 pivoted at 5, the jaw 3 carried by an arm 9 and the jaw 4 by an arm 8 having a tubular part slidable on a vertical rod 7 on a support 6 and a two-armed operating lever 13 pivoted at 10 to the support 6 and having slotted arms 11 engaging the pivot 5 has also a hammering handle 14 slidable on the end of the lever 13 ; the end of the tubular lever 13 is strengthened by a sleeve 20 secured by rivets 21 engaging a slot 18 in an extension stem 17 of the handle 14 and limiting its outward movement. In a modification, the hammering handle slides on the outside of the tubular stem. The jaw 3 may be provided with a wire cutting blade 23.
