Abstract

421,133. Implements and machines for working land. McBAIN, W. J., Exton, Inchture, Perthshire. June 16, 1933, No. 17171. [Class 6 (i)] A self - cleaning rotary harrow comprises spiked discs rotatable about a horizontal axis and driven through reduction gearing from a spiked disc or discs rotated by engagement with the ground as the harrow moves forward. The harrowing discs 2 may be strung on a polygonal shaft 1 driven by worm and bevel gearing 4, 5, 7, 8 from a parallel shaft 10 provided with spiked driving discs 9. Scraper bars or tines 13 may be carried by a cross-bar 12. The shafts 1, 10 may both be adjustable vertically. According to the Provisional Specification the spoked discs may be driven in the opposite direction to that of the driving discs, or the reduction gearing may be driven from a travelling wheel or the like.
