Abstract

421,007. Perambulators. O'NEILL, F., 1, Royal Park Grove, Hyde Park, Leeds. Sept. 9, 1933, No. 24985. [Class 108 (i)] The body of a perambulator is mounted on the chassis by means of rockers to permit rocking and means are provided for locking the body when desired. The chassis comprises axles 3, longitudinals 2 and transverse members 5 mounted on the longitudinals 2 by means of springs 4. The body 6 is provided with arcuate rockers 7 which rest on the transverse members 5 and are yieldingly secured to them by bolts 8 the nuts 9 of which bear on springs 10 and are locked by a split ring or a locknut. The body is further positioned and centred by tension springs 20. The means for locking the body to the chassis when desired comprise longitudinal shafts 12 mounted in brackets 13 on the body and having flat portions on their ends so that in one position of rotation the flats engage under the chassis and lock the body while in the position in which the flats are vertical the shafts 12 clear the chassis. Instead of flats, cams &c. may be employed. The shafts 12 are rotated or operated by means of a handle 18 and links 14.
