Vehicles with removable bodies.- A vehicle having a permanent body portion 1 fixed to the chassis and one or more upper removable bodies 2 has fixed transverse bars 6 secured to the upper body and slidable transverse bars 7 on the permanent body portion, the slidable bars 7 being carried by screwed nuts 9, 10 movable on right and left hand screws formed on longitudinal shafts 11 so that the bars 7 can be brought closely against the bars 6 to secure the upper body on to the permanent body portion. A bearing 15 supports the centre 18 of the shaft 11, which centre is of reduced diameter to permit a limited amount of longitudinal play between shoulders 19 whereby unequal spacing of the meeting faces of the bars 6, 7 from the bearing 15, due to wear &c., is allowed for automatically. Specification 1095/12 is referred to.
