[Class 80 (iii)] [See also Group XXXIV] Brakes for road vehicles are operated by a Bowden cable 4, the sheath 4<a> of which bears against an initially compressed spring 12 which yields when the braking effort exceeds a predetermined limit in order to limit the braking effort particularly on the rear wheels of motor vehicles. The spring is contained in a casing 10 comprising two parts screwed together and adapted to adjust the initial tension of the spring. The casing is fixed to a support by means of an adjusting nut 11.
