Abstract

420,803. Metallic - vapour rectifiers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Sept. 20, 1934, No. 27088. Convention date, Sept. 21, 1933. [Class 39 (i)] A metallic-vapour rectifier, having a glass vessel, is resiliently mounted within a frame and a liquid is provided to prevent transmission of vibrations from the frame to the vessel. A rectifier c, Fig. 1, is secured within a holder d by a spring clip e and a resilient member f. The holder is secured within a vessel b, filled with oil through an opening k, by means of springs h ; the two upper springs may be weaker, or stronger, than the two lower ones. Springs l support the vessel b within the frame o, in which are housed the choke coils r and the transformer q. The springs l may be replaced by pistons m, Fig. 2, moving in a liquid n, the elasticity of the device being increased by tubes o. In a modification, the rectifier is mounted by springs u, Fig. 3, in a container r, which floats in liquid in a vessel b, and is connected thereto by springs s, t. The vessel b is supported on a member v, which may be the underframe of a vehicle.
