Abstract

415,147. Closures for cans. SURE SEAL & SUTAX, Ltd., 10, Charterhouse Street, BARLOW, R., 28, Kingsway, HUXLEY, J. H., and SUTCLIFFE, T., 10, Charterhouse Street, both in London. Feb. 27, 1933, No. 5968. [Class 125 (iii).] An open ended can &c. is provided with a glass closuring element 6, the underside 7 of which has a convex or conical surface or a surface with radial sloping depressions so that air bubbles arising from the contents are deflected upwards into a recess 9 which also accommodates the gasket 3. The transparent end may be secured by a ring which is either spun or screwed to the can. The end of the can may be deflected inwardly to insulate the gasket from the contents.
