Abstract

378,976. Cans &c. SHELL-MEX, Ltd. and HANCOCK, H. W., St. Helens Court, Great St. Helens, London. May 22, 1931, No. 15226. [Class 66.] In a container 1 comprising a compartment 4 for the reception of fuel such as petrol and a second compartment 5 for the reception of a withdrawable container 8 for lubricating oil, the withdrawable container is provided with a cover which extends over the mouth of the compartment 5 when the withdrawable container is in position therein. A partition 2 with an end-piece 3 may serve to separate the two compartments and it may be provided with a flange at the top to secure it to the container ; the withdrawable container having a disc which overlaps the mouth of the compartment for the oil container. Alternatively the top of the partition 2 may be curled over at 6 and soldered to the top 7 of the can and the cover 12 secured to the oil container 8 may have a flange 13 which forms a joint with this rolled-over portion. The withdrawable container has a neck 9, and a handle secured to eyes 10 on the cover 12. Access to the compartment 4 may be had by means of the aperture 14, which may be closed by a screw-cap 15.
