Abstract

419,922. Lathes. HERBERT, SIR A., and LLOYD, A. H., c/o Herbert, Ltd., Canal Road, Edgwick, Coventry. April 3, 1934, No. 9998. [Class 83 (iii).] In a lathe having two longitudinally movable saddles 15, 19, supported on the same pair of guideways 12 which clear the headstock, the saddle 15 nearer the headstock carries, on the headstock side, guards 16 which contact with the guideways and on its other side guards 17 which are spaced above the guideways and extend into openings 21 in the other saddle. The latter may carry, on the side remote from the headstock, guards 23 which may be either above or below the co-operating guards 17 of the other saddle.
