Abstract

474,547. Lathes. DRUMMOND BROS., Ltd., and HARRIS, R. Oct. 15, 1936, No. 28082. [Class 83 (iii)] A capstan lathe or like machine tool has a stop-bar 8, for controlling the longitudinal movement of the tail capstan head secured to the rear side of the latter where there is considerable clearance so that the stop-bar may be made of dimensions to assure rigidity. The stop-bar, which is of the selector type connected by gearing 12, Fig. 2 (plan) actuated from the capstan head, is supported in brackets 6 secured to lugs 5 on the capstan slide and carries adjustable stop members arranged to coact with a stop member on the slide base 2. The stop-bar is protected from cuttings by a cover 15 which may be revolved to a position exposing the upper portion of the stop-bar when adjustment of the stop members is necessary.
