Abstract

419,222. Sanitary bins &c. TENNANT, W. J., 112, Hatton Garden, London.- (Ochsner & Co. Akt.-Ges., J. ; 3, Pelikanstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland.) May 18, 1933, No. 14470. [Class 26.] A litter-container particularly designed for use on vehicles or in public places, comprises an upright back wall constituted by, or secured to, a support, and a unit constituting the remaining walls which is hinged to the back wall, and open at the top for the insertion of litter and open at the back to facilitate the removal of litter when the unit is swung away from the wall. In the form shown in the Figure, the back wall comprises a shallow channel 10 having slots 11 to engage pins 12 on plates attached to a support, and the unit is in the form of a semi-cylindrical unit 15 having a sloping bottom-plate 17. A spring catch 18, 19 and a hinge 16 are provided. In another form, the positions of the catch and hinge are reversed, and in either form a key-operated lock such as that described in Specification 417,530 may replace the catch.
