Abstract

418,781. Mounting engines &c. HUMBER, Ltd., and WISHART, N. M., Humber Works, Stoke, Coventry. Sept. 15, 1933, No. 25589. [Class 79 (iii).] A power unit, supported on a resilient pad carried by a transverse frame member, is restrained from endwise movements by a lug or tongue depending from the unit into a transverse channel member. The rear end of an engine and gearbox unit is shown seated on a pad 15 cradled in a channelled cross frame member 13 of a vehicle chassis, the pad and frame member conforming approximately to arcs about the axis of the transmission shaft 14. From the transmission housing 12, a lug 22 depends into a transverse channel member 23 lined with leather, hard rubber or fabric and attached to the frame member 13 with the interposition of packing 24. The housing is held down by a bolt 19 passing through a rubber ring 18 and through clearances in the frame member and pad 15, threading into a non- circular boss 21.
