405,553. Motor driving-arrangements. ALLBOOK & HASHFIELD, Ltd., 35, Barbican, and HASHFIELD, P., 68, Great North Road, Highgate, both in London. July 19, 1933, No. 20350. [Class 35.] In driving-gear for a sewing- machine or like motor of the type comprising a pulley or like member 9 and friction member 10 mounted on an auxiliary shaft 8 coaxial with the motor shaft 3 and adapted to be moved longitudinally to cause the friction member 10 to engage with a corresponding member 2 on the motor shaft the housing 7 of the auxiliary shaft 8 is carried on a frame 6 attached to or integral with the end shield 4 of the motor. In the arrangement shown the frame 6 is formed with a flange 5 secured to the motorshield by bolts and may be detachable. The shaft 8 is moved to cause the members 2, 10 to engage by means of a bell-crank lever 11 and treadle, acting against a spring 6. The lever 11 carries a brake-block 12 which engages the edge of the member 10 when the treadle is released.
