Abstract

417,428. Changing signs. KLOSE, P. G. F., Tanunda, South Australia. Feb. 20, 1934, No. 5622. [Class 3 (i).] In signs comprising transparent tubes or rods fitted in a stencilled facia behind which continuously moves a rearward illuminated band composed of differently coloured transparent rods or tubes, the rods or tubes 11 are attached by clips 12 to extensions 10 on both sides of the links 9 of endless chains. The chains are located one at each end of the tubes 11, and the outer extensions 10 may have upturned portions 13 which prevent lateral displacement of the tubes. The extensions 10 are reduced in width where they are engaged by the clips 12, which may be of the spring type, and the tubes 11 may be similarly reduced. One clip only may be used on each link, adjacent tubes preferably having staggered clips. Intermediate chains and clips may be employed for long rods or tubes 11, which may be of any cross-section.
