Abstract
417,302. Extraction apparatus. ROULLAND, A., 84, Boulevard Jean-Jaures, Clichy, Seine, France. Feb. 15, 1934, No. 5046. Convention date, Feb. 15,1933. [Classes 14 (ii), 81 (i), and 127.] Fruit, vegetable, and other pulp is continuously diffused in rotary drums in which each drum or drum section is arranged in a separate liquid compartment, the pulp is fed from drum to drum in one direction and the liquid from compartment to compartment in the opposite direction, the liquid being drained from the pulp before each transfer of the latter from drum to drum. As shown, a trough 1 is provided with partitions 2 dividing it into compartments in which is arranged a series of drum sections 14. Each drum section is provided with a radial perforated partition 15 which scoops up the pulp from the liquid and delivers it to the next drum. Liquid is fed in at 4 and out at 6, the partitions 9 and 5 preventing escape of liquid into the pulp delivery funnel 10 or pulp entry chamber 8. Further liquid of a different temperature or chemical composition may be introduced at 7. The structure may be cleaned by means of steam pipes mounted on it.
