Abstract

416,877. Envelopes. HARBORNE, T. L., Torwood, The Shrubbery, Westonsuper-Mare. June 23, 1933, No. 17935. [Class 146 (ii).] An envelope having a folded narrow flap with no adhesive is sealed by passing the mouth of the envelope between a pair of crimping-wheels to leave a non-crimped margin at the edge of the envelope and a crimp-sealed line. The non-crimped margin presents at each side of the envelope a small gap into which the point of an opener can be inserted. As shown in the Figure, the envelope is of wallet design having a plain unseamed back 1 and a front joined together down the sides by narrow side wings 3, and the sealing flap 4 is preferably three-eighths to one-half inch wide so as to receive a line of crimping 5 of one-eighth to one-quarter inch in width.
