Abstract

416,395. Golf club caddy - bags. BAIRD, P., 43, Broomlands Street, Paisley. June 7, 1933, No. 16327. [Class 132 (ii).] A golf-bag support is made of a single piece of wire hinged to a metal clip detachably engaging over the mouth of the golf bag. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the support comprises a single piece of stiff spring wire 3 formed with a bridge piece 4 acting as a hinge pin engaging with hinge eyes 5 bushed with non-metallic sleeves 13 and formed on, attached to or integral with a curved sheet metal plate 12 which carries or is connected to two or more spring metal hooks 11 engaging over the mouth 7 of the bag 8. The legs 3 are crossed and fitted at their ends with rounded or ball-shaped heavy feet 9, and their distance apart is adjusted by means of a sliding clasp 10 formed of a strip of sheet metal curled at its ends to form eyes 14, the strip being curved to set the eyes 14 at an angle to each other so that the clasp may slide on the legs without appreciable friction. The bridge piece may be curved to conform to the curvature of the metal plate 12 which is extended upwards and formed with a convex upper edge 12a to act as a stop for the bridge piece 4 and thus limit the outward movement of the legs 3. The support can be detached from the bag and stored within it after sliding the clasp 10 towards the ends 9 of the legs 3.
