Abstract

415,490. Jacquards. DEVOGE & CO., Ltd., and FIELDING, P. P., Sycamore Street, Oldham Road, Manchester. March 8, 1933, No. 6991. [Class 142 (i).] In single cylinder double-lift jacquards, harness necks d connected by cords c to jacquard hooks a of the push off type are controlled by two or other even number of rows of needles b. Each needle has four short eyes and controls four hooks. The needles in odd numbered rows control hooks 1<a>, 3<a>, 6<a> and 8<a> in each series of eight hooks, whilst the other needles control hooks 2<a>, 4<a>, 5<a> and 7<a> in each series. The knives are so arranged that one griffe lifts hooks 1<a>, 4<a>, 6<a> and 7<a>, whilst the other griffe lifts hooks 2<a>, 3<a>, 5<a> and 8<a>. The hooks 1<a>, 4<a>, 5<a> and 6<a> are each attached to two necks d, whilst the other hooks are each attached to four necks d. Eight spare needles control additional hooks, not shown, arranged in series of eight connected to shafts g as described in Specification 358,652. Each spare needle has four or more short eyes. The griffes are so constructed that the knives controlling hooks 2a, 3<a>, 6<a> and 7<a> may be removable to produce a different weave.
