Abstract

415,370. Preventing corrosion. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. Nov. 18, 1932, No. 32638. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 10, 1933]. Drawings to Specification. [Class 123 (i).] To prevent corrosion of the wrought iron tube-plates of a condenser, evaporator or other heat exchanger, the sides of the plates in contact with the cooling water or brine are faced with plates of non-corroding metal such as copper or copper alloy. A facing plate may be secured. to a tube plate by welding or soldering, or by expanding or bending the tube ends in the tube holes in the facing plate. The edges of the facing plates are sealed by rubber cord to prevent leakage.
