Abstract

414,514. Dog - racing apparatus. OLIVER, R. O., 24, Union Road, Exeter. July 24, 1933, No. 20756. [Class 132 (i).] A lure carrier consists of a trolley fitted with six pairs of wheels, one pair engaging the top of the mono-rail, two pairs each side of the mono-rail, and one pair the bottom of the monorail. As shown, the lure carrier comprises a trolley running on a rail R supported on brackets B each carrying a guidepulley P for the driving cable O. The trolley consists of two metal frames F1 between which are fitted six pairs of wheels W<1>, W<2>, W<3>, W<4>, W<5>, and w<6> running on ball bearings and fitted with noiseless tyres. Two vertical wheels W<1> run on the upper edge and two vertical wheels W<4> run on the lower edge of the rail R. The horizontal pairs of wheels W<2>, W<3> run on one side and the horizontal pairs of wheels W<5>, W<6> run on the other side of the rail R. The arm A<1> carries the lure. The jaws J<1>, J<2> gripping the cable O are operated by the levers L<1>, L<2>, and L<3> which are connected by a rod K to an arm T engaged at the driving point by a cambar C to cause the jaws J<1>, J<2> to disengage the cable until the driving-point has been passed.
