Abstract
414,133. Lubricating pulleys. BAKER, R. G., 1, Ridgebalk Lane, Woodlands, near Doncaster. Feb. 2, 1933, No. 3182. [Classes 12 (ii) and 12 (iii).] A pulley has an annular chamber 14 covered by a plate 15, the outer wall 16 of the chamber meeting the plate 15 at an acute angle. The inner wall of the chamber has one or more inclined holes 18 containing a tube 19 opening at or near the angular periphery of the chamber. When the pulley rotates, lubricant enters the tubes 19, and, when the pulley is stationary, such lubricant runs down the tubes and enters the bearing. In a modification, each tube 19 is replaced by a duct formed in a radial web extending across the annular chamber. In another modification, the wall 16 adjacent the cover 15 has an annular groove.
