[Class 36.] To ensure continuous contact between the earth wire and the lead sheath of a flat cable comprising cores 2 laid up side by side, and with an earth wire 4, within a lead sheath 1, the earth wire is laid on a tape 3 of cellulose acetate, the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Cellophane," or other resilient and non-hydroscopic cellulose derivative which is applied either longitudinally, as shown, or helically over two adjacent cores. The tape 3 may be marked with identification matter.
