[Classes 44 and 65 (ii).] A pivot for a mirror or the like comprises a pin secured to a bracket adapted for association with one of the members to be connected, an attachment plate for attachment to the other member, a pair of jaws pivoted to the attachment plate to embrace the pin, and a clamping screw or bolt connecting the projecting ends of the jaws to draw them together to produce a frictional grip on the pin. In the form shown, the pin 8 is carried by an L-shaped member 9 adapted to engage a plate 12 fixed on the supporting post 6 of a mirror, a stop being provided on the member 9 to limit the downward engaging movement. The attachment member 5, fixed to the back of the mirror, has a raised centre portion forming a seating for the pin 8, and the two jaws 7 are attached to it by pins 16 which pass through barrels 15 formed on the jaws and engage behind the raised part of the member 5, which is apertured above and below the pin seating to receive the barrels 15. The apertures are formed partly by cutting away metal and partly by bending forward tongues to engage a circumferential groove in the pin 8 to prevent endwise movement thereof. The outer ends of the jaws are connected by a clamping bolt 20 with a finger nut. The member 5 may be attached to the back of the post 6, with the member 9 projecting forwardly and upwardly to engage the plate 12 fixed on the side of the mirror.
