Abstract
413,575. Sphygmomanometer bandages. COSSOR, F., Accoson Works, Vale Road, Finsbury Park, London. Dec. 22, 1933, No. 36161. [Class 81 (ii).] The bandage or cuff of a sphymomanometer comprises two layers of silk or the like stitched together to form a pocket 17, open at the end 20 to enclose a pneumatic pad 14, and opensided pockets 32 enclosing German silver or other stiffening strips 21, 27, 31. The strip 21, nearest the pad 14, is formed with headed studs 25 and the strips 27 with key-hole slots 26, the intervening strips 31 being totally enclosed. Strips 21, 27 also are secured by stitches through holes 24, 30 therein. In use the bandage is wrapped around the limb, pad 14 innermost, and is secured by engaging the studs 25 in the slots 26 of the nearest strip 27 ; the pad 14 is then connected to the sphygmomanometer by flexible tubes 15, 16, protruding through the wall of the pocket 17, and is inflated in the usual manner.
