Convention date, Jan. 2, 1932. Divided on 412,622. [Class 100 (iv).] Paper-masks ; sheet-guiding arrangements.- A shoot for guiding a slip on to the platen of a calculating or like machine is provided with hinged members for masking or exposing part of the slip. In the arrangement shown in the Figure, a shoot or table 122, extending around the platen, is provided with side plates 113, 114 supported by rods 47, 48 on the carriage, the front of the shoot having apertures 124 for the types. The rod 47 supports hinged masks 125, 126 for the slip, the mask 125 covering a column, and the mask 126 having a slot 127 for exposing the matter in the printing line. Specifications 28253/08, [Class 100], and 412,622 are referred to. Sheet-feeding arrangements.-Upper and lower feed-rollers 134, 146 co-operating with the platen can be simultaneously released by means of a single finger-lever 138. The feed-roller shafts 145 are carried by spring-urged arms 130, 140 having hubs 131, 141 which are mounted on shafts 120, 121 and are formed with steps for engaging steps on collars 132, 144 secured to the shafts. The finger-lever has cam-slots 137, 152 co-operating with arms 135, 150 secured to the shafts 120, 121.
