Abstract

412,615. Circular looms. WEAVING MACHINES CO., Ltd., MAcEWAN, W. R., and VILLA, J. I., 7, Great Winchester Street, London. Dec. 31, 1932, No. 37046. [Class 142 (ii).] In a loom such as is described in Specification 336,246, [Class 142 (ii)], the shuttle impelling members 15 extending radially of the central axis 23 and mounted to move vertically, serve as a track for the shuttle, while each member carries, at one side, a reed member 16 of which each element 17 is long enough to remain always between two adjacent warp threads during shedding. The outer ends of the members 15 are guided in vertical grooves 25, while at their inner ends they are secured to a sleeve 11 for moving on a shaft 23 and having a roller 12 engaging with a cam 27. The reed member 16 is detachably secured to the impelling member 15, and to ensure even spacing of the warp threads in the fabric, the inner end of the reed element 30 lies above the mid-width of the member 15 which is provided, as in Specification 380,794, with an undercut recess 31 for the shuttle carrier.
