411,182. Treating wood. McALLISTER, W. F., 36, Fairlawn Grove, Chiswick, London. Dec. 8, 1932, No. 34819. [Class 140.] To prevent warping, timber is immersed in an aqueous solution containing a thiosulphate, and also a sulphate, a sulphite, or an alkali, or two or all of the latter. Sodium thiosulphate, magnesium or sodium sulphate or alum, sodium sulphite, and caustic soda are specified. Sodium silicate, common salt, and borax may be added to the solution. The treated timber is cut up in the dark.
