Abstract
410,866. Reinforeed concrete. HOPEWELL, R., 144, Plashet Road, Upton Park, London. Oct. 11, 1933, No. 28948/32. [Class 20 (iv).] A metal bar a for use in reinforced concrete is of rectangular or square crosssection with spaced transversely-disposed ridges b on one edge thereof for engagement with the bent or looped portions of additional reinforcing rods d, e. The ends of the ridges terminate flush with the side faces of the bars. Four bars a may be built up to form a skeleton box-like reinforcement for a beam, as shown in Fig. 2, and such bars are connected at intervals by vertical and horizontal bars d, e which are bent to engage the ridges b of the bars a. In a modification, four bars a are bound together by looped rods g, as shown in Fig. 3. Reference has been directed by the-Comptroller to Specification 10384/15, [Class 20 (iv)].
