Abstract
409,788. Harvesting potatoes &c. DANIELS, H. G., Hyde Road, Yeronga, near Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Nov. 16, 1932, No. 32368. Convention date, Nov. 16, 1931. [Class 6 (iii).] A machine for harvesting potatoes, turnips, onions, peanuts, or other vegetables comprises a frame A mounted upon a pair of steering wheels B and a pair of main wheels C, share supports D being pivoted on the axle of the main wheels and extending forward to carry cheek pieces F between which a share G is held. The share has a series of slots H at the front and a second series J at the rear. A rotating spindle L that may be driven by chain and sprocket gear from the main axle is mounted in bearings in the cheek pieces F and carries fingers K that pass through the slots J. The height of the share is adjusted by a hand lever P actuating bell cranks N N<2> connected by chains 0 to the cheeks. Guide members Q extend upwards from the cheeks and pass through slides R on the machine frame.
