Abstract
409,607. Roof constructions. MOPIN, E. G. P., 90, Avenue Niel, Paris. Nov. 10, 1933, No. 31360. Convention date, Oct. 14. [Classes 20 (i) and 20 (ii).] Roofs of the form of pyramids or of cones, paraboloids, part spheres, upright or inverted, are constructed by forming separate strips in the shapes of helices starting from the centre, each strip serving as a working floor or scaffolding for each succeeding strip. The strips 2 may be preformed and wound into position, or may be of reinforced concrete cast in position, the reinforcement 3 of each strip overlapping the reinforcement of the next succeeding strip and the concrete being cast on a movable mould 4 stiffened by struts 5 and fastened to the previously cast helix by bolts 6. Fig. 4 shows the finished building with centre support 1, roof 2, closures 7 which may be mounted to pivot or slide.
