Abstract

409,325. Golf clubs. WINTERS, L. D., 1619, Chicago Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, U.S.A. Oct. 27, 1932, No. 30190. [Class 132 (ii).] The upper or handle portion of a golf-club shaft is formed of elliptical or oval cross section symmetrical with respect to the axis of the shaft, the major axis of the cross section being disposed at an acute angle of between 10 and 30‹ to the plane parallel to the axis of the shaft and containing the forward edge of the club head, such angle being measured from the major axis to the rear of the forward edge. The shaft 11 may be formed of the desired section during manufacture, Fig. 6, or may be formed of circular section and have applied to it two tapering channels 13 of rubber, cork, aluminium or light wood. The handle is completed by the usual wrapping band 18.
