408,466. Sewing-machines. ARMSTRONG, J. J. V., 12, Church Street, Liverpool.-(Union Special Machine Co. ; 400, North Franklin Street, Chicago, U.S.A.) June 2, 1933, No. 15953. [Class 112.] The shaft 26 of a lock-stitch sewing-machine is directly geared to the main shaft 7. The gear chain comprises two wheels 16, 34 of the same diameter and a larger wheel 15 of artificial resin having a number of teeth which is not a multiple of the gears 16, 34. The gear 15 is mounted on a fixed bush 15". Regulating length of stitch.-A work engaging movement is imparted to the feed dog 41 by a crank 49, which is eccentrically mounted on the end of the shaft 26, and a depend ng lug 47 on the feed bar 42. The work feeding movement is imparted by an eccentric 53, a telescoping strap 54, 55 and a feed rocker 44. To regulate the throw of the feed dog, the angular position of the strap 55 with respect to the rocker 44 is adjusted by links 58, 60, which are set by a knurled disc 67.
