Abstract
407,747. Clips. SHAW, A. J., 6, Ramuz Drive, Westcliff-on-Sea. Oct. 5, 1982, No. 27676. [Class 44.] Means for securing sheets of paper, canvas, &c. to drawing-boards, notice boards, &c., comprise angle-plates b, Fig. 1, having inclined slots c, which are secured to the edge of the board a by screws &c., passing through the slots. When the plates are moved so as to cause the screws to ascend in the slots, the parts projecting over the board move down, so as to clamp the paper &c. The slots are preferably inclined in opposite directions, so that the paper is slightly stretched when the plates descend. The undersides of the plates may be roughened to increase their grip, and apertures may be provided to give finger-holds. The plates may be mounted in slots in the board, or in recesses in its edge. In a modification, the clamping-devices comprise plates i, Fig. 7, having cam-slots j, through which pass screws k. An arm l on each plate projects over the surface of the board, so that, when the plate is turned, the arm is brought down on the board. Thumbpieces m may be provided on the plates.
