405,853. Vehicle wheels. BUDD WHEEL CO., 2500, Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Fair, W. H., and Eksergian, C. L.; 12141, Charlevoix Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.) May 18, 1933,No. 14447. Convention date, May 27, 1932. [Class 144 (i).] A wheel comprises a one-piece stamping providing open-channel spokes 15 and a conical hub-portion 25 having spaced seatings against the brake-drum which is carried by the permanent hub-flange 11. The brake-drum, e.g. the shoulder-portion 21, is formed with corrugations 35, 36 to interlock with the inner ends of the spokes. The outer ends of the spokes are secured by channel-section reinforcements 31 welded to the spokes and riveted to the rim. A cap 38 is secured by spring-fingers 39 welded to the wheel-hub.
