[Class 40 (iii).] In a television receiver in which a fluctuating lightsource I is optically projected on a screen S by a lens L2, the lens is anastigmatic and aplanatic so that a flat and undistorted image of objects in the plane at I is produced on the screen. The lens has an external nodal point N between itself and the light-source I, and the scanning-mirror or mirrors is or are located at or near to this point. Alternatively the lens system may be compounded of two lenses located one on each side of the nodal point and mirrors (Fig. 4, not shown).
