C. ; 302, Boulevard, Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, both in U.S.A.) Jan. 27, 1933, No. 2674. Convention date, Jan. 27, 1932. [Class 18.] A vanity case which may be held, opened and closed, with one hand, comprises a box 10, Fig. 1, slidable cover 11 with flanges 12, a flange or set of detents 13 and detents 14, a supporting member 15 of fibre, papier-machÚ &c. fitting frictionally within the casing and containing a cosmetic receptacle 16. A powder puff and other articles may rest on the member 15 which also supports a mirror 18, e.g. of non- tarnishing metal. The member 15 may be cut away to enclose coins, cigarettes &c. The receptacle 16 may be omitted, and cosmetic in lozenge form or in powder form contained in an envelope placed in the recess in the supporting member. In an alternative form shown in Fig. 1 the supporting member has the form of a block 20 and the mirror the form shown at 21. The cover 11 may serve as a handle.
