Abstract

418,872. Vanity cases. SACHS, C., 24, Rue du Mail, Paris. Nov. 21, 1933, No. 32479. [Class 18.] A combined vanity case and cigarette case comprises two portions 1<a>, 1<b> and a partition 24, hinged together at 23. The partition carries a flange 24<a> which fits into portion 1<a> to form a tray which is divided by partitions into a number of compartments containing the articles of a vanity case, e.g. a comb 5, a pouch 7 for a powder puff, tubes of cosmetic 9, 9<1>, and agglomerated powder &c. The tubes 9, 9<1> are held in place by a clip 10 pivoted on hinges 11, and one compartment is closed by a lid 13. The inner face of portion 1<a> carries a mirror 3. The portion 1<b> is divided into compartments adapted to receive cigarettes, a cigarette holder 18, matches, and a friction plate for the matches. The end of the cigarette holder fits into a notch 27 when the case is closed. Projections 25<a>, 25b and 26 allow either or both sections to be opened at will. The outer face of 1<a> is provided with a part (not shown), preferably of darker colour, adapted to receive an inscription. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 252,456 and 337,509, [both in Class 18].
